A funeral service for Peggy Jean Williams Jones, 74, is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation was Friday at London’s Mortuary.

Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 22, 1942 to Mary Ann Davis and Joe Williams. She died on Dec. 4, 2016.

She graduated from McFarland School and earned an associate degree from Tyler Junior College. She was employed by American Recreation Products until her retirement. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earnest E. Buckner and Lawrence M. Williams, and one son, Michael S. Williams.

She is survived by her son, Sidney E. Jones; one daughter, Claressa Jones Turman; one brother, James L. Williams; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
