The Amtrak Texas Eagle is the number one passenger rail train from a field of 15, it was announced during a TEMPO (Texas Eagle Marketing and Performance Organization) meeting held March 4 in San Antonio.
Dr. Bill Pollard, TEMPO director, and Griff Hubbard retain title of Revenue Management Team. They oversee and track the ridership daily. In addition to tracking how many passengers use the various stations along the Texas Eagle route, the amount of ticket revenue is also logged.
TEMPO will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the organization this fall with a special planned event. Founding members of TEMPO from Mineola are Celia Boswell, Mercy Rushing and Barbara Musgraves.
Rushing, Mineola city administrator, presented a check for $18,000 to Hubbard, the Longview Station Master, covering the expense for four reserved rail cars for the annual Mineola Wine Train scheduled later this month.
