All district volleyball honors announced

All district volleyball honors announced
Quitman and Mineola volleyball players have earned all-district honors in 13-3A.
Superlatives went to Quitman’s Carley Spears and Kamryn Bolin as newcomers of the year.
Mineola’s Mylee Fischer was named blocker of the year, and teammate Caidyn Anderson earned server of the year.
First team honors went to Mineola’s Brittany Pickle, Tahjae Black and Valerie Garcia and Quitman’s Lucy Brannon and Ava Burroughs.
Making the second team were Mineola’s Alyssa Lankford and Jaiden Gardner and Quitman’s Halie Davis and Lindsey Hornaday.
Named honorable mention were Mineola’s Madison Bloodworth, Kozbie Riley, Riley Weekly, Jocelyn Whitehead, Macy Fischer and Gracie Finley and Quitman’s Brooklyn Marcee, Alexis O’Neal and Maddy Pence.
Named academic all-district were Quitman’s Lucy Brannon, Halie Davis, Lindsey Hornaday, Ava Burroughs, Brooklyn Marcee, Alexis O’Neal, Carley Spears and Maddy Pence. From Mineola, Mylee Fischer, Tahjae Black, Jaiden Gardner, Riley Weekly, Valerie Garcia, Alyssa Lankford, Caidyn Anderson, Kloey Garcia, Jocelyn Whitehead, Audrey Dowdle, Lauren Simmons and Macy Fischer were honored.
