The inaugural Life Champion Hero award was given to Robert Stovall of Alba last month.

Stovall was honored for his life of ministering and caring for families most in need during the Sept. 13 Southwest Transplant Alliance Conference held in Dallas. Stovall has served as the East Texas Medical Center-Tyler Chaplain for 11 years.

“This inaugural award honors Mr. Stovall who has demonstrated an unprecedented dedication to save lives through donation and transplantation,” said Anne Willingham “His work was above and beyond most individuals, that we felt we needed to honor him in some way, so we created this award.”

Stovall has dedicated much of his adult life to ministering to families and serving as a model of the dedication and passion needed to be a great chaplain.

“As the hospital chaplain he is always where he is needed most. In fact, he’s been described as ‘omnipresent’ and a person who is full of grace, patience, and empathy.”
