Alba-Golden tennis players advance to regional meet
Alba-Golden will be sending both boys singles players and doubles teams and one girls singles players and one girls doubles team to the regional tournament.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers hosted Cooper for the district tournament last week.
In girls singles, Lizzie Whitecotton defeated Macie McCarthy 6-2, 6-0, and for the title stopped Marissa Reyna 6-0, 6-1.
In boys singles two Panthers battled for the title, with Will Hartin defeating Cameron Galyean 7-5, 6-3.
Marissa Rojo and Bailey Pennington won the girls doubles title over a team from Cooper, Kadence Trujillo and Mackenzie Reeves, 6-2, 6-1.
Charlie Belknap and Ashley Cortez of Alba-Golden lost to Trujillo and Reeves 4-6, 4-6.
In boys doubles, Andres Comacho and Austin Martin defeated Ryken Jones and Michael Kumm 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 for the title.
