This week we saw the air temperatures remain in the mid to upper 90s, which meant the water temperatures rose back to the upper 80s and low 90s. The main feeder creeks, like Burch and Garrett, were the warmest water temperatures at 91 to 92 degrees.

Lake Fork Fishing Report
This week we saw the air temperatures remain in the mid to upper 90s, which meant the water temperatures rose back to the upper 80s and low 90s. The main feeder creeks, like Burch and Garrett, were the warmest water temperatures at 91 to 92 degrees.
The lake level also dropped to 5.6 vertical, and the lake is starting to clear a little from the lake turning over. I am starting to see more and more stumps every day. The bass fishing remained fair to good. The bait of choice was still the Zoom Mag II worm in the blue fleck color, Texas rigged. The bite pattern did change a little this week.
We found our better fish being caught in 4 to 10 foot of water, holding close to small stumps. We continued to use the Denny Brauer Worm rod coupled with the Ardent Edge Tournament Reel for great hook sets on those hard to catch Lake Fork Bass.
The crappie fishing was still very slow this week. The straight minnow rig worked the best.
The white bass fishing also had slowed down this week. Joe Spaits chrome/chartreuse flutter still was the best bait to use.
The catfish went on a diet this week. A few catfish were taken on trout lines using cut bait.
Lake Fork Marina is the best place to buy the minnows, and has the best selection of Joe Spaits spoons. Their hotel also has the cleanest rooms on the lake if you need a place to stay here on beautiful Lake Fork.
