Alba cancels October fall festival

Alba Economic Development Corp. (EDC) reluctantly agreed to cancel the annual fall festival in October. The EDC agreed last week to try to have a larger event at Christmas, including the annual fire department benefit fish fry.

The EDC also voted to pay for clearing a drainage creek that runs from Quitman St. to Hwy. 69.

The EDC will seek bids for a permanent brick sign for the city park and voted to remove and replace the wood fibers under the older playground equipment.
