A-GISD Board set to approve new superintendent

Alba-Golden School Board was scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday to consider the contract for a new superintendent.
The meeting occurred after this week’s Monitor went to press.
On June 8 the board named Cole McClendon as the lone finalist for the position.
No contract could be offered until the mandatory 21-day waiting period expired.
McClendon has served as the superintendent of Sam Rayburn ISD in Fannin County.
That school board has named an interim superintendent effective July 1 and accepted a voluntary exit agreement with McClendon.
