A-G Lady Panthers too much for Yantis Lady Owls
The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers made short work of the Yantis Lady Owls last Friday with a 25-13, 25-11, 25-17 home win.
The Lady Panthers used long scoring runs of five and seven points to take a quick game one. Yantis was clearly overmatched, but the points had to yet be scored, and the Lady Panthers were constantly reminded of that fact by Coach Webster.
Numerous unforced errors plagued both sides. Strong play by the Alba-Golden front line took the day. Excellent services from Hope Wiley and Autumn Whitten contributed greatly to the win.
Game three proved a bit more competitive as the Lady Owls began to move and scramble. The aggressive nature of the Lady Panthers secured the three-game win.
The volleyball district schedule for Alba-Golden is a unique fixture. The Lady Panthers play each 1A school in the district once in district competition while they play each 2A school twice. The next district contest for Alba-Golden is Friday at home against Fruitvale.
