7th grade Lady Jackets bring home district track title
Mineola seventh grade girls won last week’s district track meet in Mt. Vernon while the eighth grade girls and seventh grade boys teams placed second and the eighth grade boys third.
The seventh grade girls finished with a team point total of 176. Mt. Vernon placed second with 159, and Harmony finished 3rd with 137.
The top point winners for Mineola were Raylie Peebles, Stephanie Rojas and Jaylee Nevarez.
The eighth grade girls finished with 140.5 points, just 1.5 points behind leader Mt. Vernon. The top point winners for Mineola were Olivia Hughes, Paris Spignor and Briana Palacios.
The seventh grade boys scored 119 points. Winnsboro placed first. Top point leaders for Mineola were Ainsley Steward, Daniel Candelario and Matthew Ballew.
The eighth grade boys accumulated 118.5 points. Winnsboro and Winona took first and second. The top point winners for Mineola were Calem Redding, Tommy Trent and Xzavien Lipscomb.
